(Alloys like most Vauxhalls of this age are not in good condition, paint wise) This has been the best car I’ve ever owned. Tyres are in good condition, with the front tyres replaced in October 2025, along with two rear discs and pads. I initially suspected a wheel bearing, CV boot, or driveshaft, so I took it to a local garage for assessment and to book in a repair. The mechanic’s opinion was that it is actually a gearbox fault. Due to the wide range in quoted repair costs—and the fact they wouldn’t know the exact cost until the gearbox was removed—I decided to get a new car instead.
